I’ve heard countless stories like the above: one- or two-person departments supporting marketing or business development for a whole firm. But it doesn’t have to be that way. When I heard about SMPS, it seemed like a great option for our region. It’s a place to connect with other professionals who understand your struggles and have been in the same boat. It’s a place to learn what’s on the cutting edge in the A/E/C industry. It’s a place for hands-on workshops and making new friends and building your career and your firm. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in Fall 2020, I joined forces with a small group of determined marketing and business development professionals to bring the first SMPS chapter to the state of Idaho. After nearly one year of research, recruitment, and logistics, SMPS Idaho is about to be real! I truly believe SMPS Idaho is a gem in the making and hope you will be a part of it.
